Design Details

An orchid-purple cotton kurta patterned in a tonal leaf-and-stripe design, worn with a contrast black dupatta scattered with cream and gold leaf butis and finished with a pink-and-gold zari border. The printed cotton trousers pick up the same motif family. The purple-and-black pairing keeps it striking without being loud, and cotton throughout means it stays wearable all day, from work to evening occasions.

My Story

India did not simply grow cotton, it taught the world what to do with it. Spinners here were working the fibre into cloth four thousand years before the mills of Lancashire existed, and Indian dyers held a monopoly on fast, brilliant colour on cotton for so long that European traders spent two centuries trying to reverse-engineer it. Every cotton suit in this collection sits in that lineage - printed, bordered or woven by hand, in a fibre chosen because it moves air, softens with every wash, and was made for exactly this climate.

Wash and Care

Wash in cold water with a mild detergent, separately for the first two or three washes as natural dyes may bleed a little. Do not bleach or wring. Dry in the shade to keep the colour true, and press on a medium heat while slightly damp.
