Design Details
An ivory organza kurta scattered with soft watercolour pink roses, sheer and light against a pure crepe lining, paired with a black organza dupatta thrown across it in a bold red and maroon floral splash print. The contrast is the whole idea here: quiet romance on the kurta, drama on the dupatta. Organza gives both pieces a crisp, floaty drape that holds its shape, and the crepe lining and bottom add weight where it is needed. A striking choice for weddings, cocktail evenings and festive celebrations.

My Story
Organza began as a silk from the Silk Road - its name is thought to trace back to Urgench in Uzbekistan, a trading city on the route west - and it is made by twisting the yarn tightly in opposite directions, then combing the woven cloth with acid to give it that crisp, glassy hand. It is unforgiving to work with: too sheer to hide a seam, too stiff to fall softly, it holds every shape you cut into it. That is exactly why designers reach for it when they want a garment with air in it - volume without weight, and a surface that lets print float.
Wash and Care
Dry clean only for the first wash. After that, hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, never wring the fabric, and dry flat in the shade. Press on a low heat with a cloth between the iron and any zari or embroidery.
