Design Details

A sea-green cotton silk suit set in a fine self-striped weave that gives the fabric a gentle horizontal texture and a soft sheen. The kurta has a V-neck and three-quarter sleeves, and the matching dupatta is finished with a woven leaf-and-paisley motif border along its width. Cotton silk holds structure better than pure cotton while staying comfortable to wear, making this a versatile tonal set for work, daytime events and travel where you want polish without heaviness.

My Story

Cotton silk is a blend that solves an old problem. Pure silk drapes and shines but does not breathe; pure cotton breathes but creases and falls flat. Running a silk warp against a cotton weft gives you the sheen and the structure of one with the coolness and give of the other - which is why Indian weavers have paired the two fibres for centuries, and why cotton silk holds the line of a kurta cleanly through a long day when cotton alone would have gone soft by afternoon. The zari worked into it is flattened metallic thread, wound on a silk core in the Banarasi tradition.

Wash and Care

Dry clean only for the first wash. After that, hand wash separately in cold water with a mild detergent, never wring the fabric, and dry flat in the shade. Press on a low heat with a cloth between the iron and any zari or embroidery.
