Design Details
A Jaipuri block-printed cotton kurta in a periwinkle-blue floral vine over a warm apricot ground, with yellow accents through the print and a lace-trimmed neckline. The kora cotton dupatta pairs blue block-printed panels with peach and yellow borders, and the printed cotton trousers pick up the same blue. Hand block printing gives each piece small variations in the print, and the light cotton makes it a natural choice for summer daywear and informal occasions.

My Story
Jaipuri block printing is Rajasthan’s everyday art form, carried out in courtyards where the cloth is stretched on long tables and the printer moves down it barefoot, striking each block by hand. A single design may need four or five blocks, one per colour, each carved from seasoned teak by a separate craftsman and aligned by nothing but the printer’s eye and a corner mark. The tiny irregularities - a motif slightly heavier here, a break in the outline there - are the fingerprint of the hand, and the reason no two lengths are identical.
Wash and Care
Wash in cold water with a mild detergent, separately for the first two or three washes as natural dyes may bleed a little. Do not bleach or wring. Dry in the shade to keep the colour true, and press on a medium heat while slightly damp.
