Design Details

A dusty lilac kurta patterned in a tonal ogee trellis and lifted with small gota patti work scattered across the surface, cut with a V-neck and full sleeves. The ivory dupatta carries mauve bootis and a printed border, and the trousers are elasticated for an easy fit. The gota work gives it a soft festive shimmer without formality, which makes it a practical ready-to-wear option for pujas, family functions and casual celebrations.

My Story

Gota patti began in the royal ateliers of Jaipur, where narrow ribbons of real gold and silver were flattened, cut into shapes and appliqued onto cloth to give a bride the glitter of heavy metal embroidery without its weight. The technique is subtractive and quick-fingered: the gota is folded, snipped into leaves, petals and paisleys, and stitched down at the edges so the light catches each facet. What was once reserved for court dress became, over time, the mark of Rajasthani festive wear - which is why even a small scatter of gota reads instantly as celebration.

Wash and Care

Wash in cold water with a mild detergent, separately for the first two or three washes as natural dyes may bleed a little. Do not bleach or wring. Dry in the shade to keep the colour true, and press on a medium heat while slightly damp.
